How does the pledge work?
You choose a small amount of money to pledge per step (e.g. €0.01 per step). As you walk throughout the month, you manually log your steps. At the end of the month, the website calculates your total monthly donation amount (e.g. 150,000 steps × €0.01 = €15.00) which you then donate directly to the Huntington's Disease Association.
Do I need to walk every day?
No, you don't have to log every day. You have full flexibility to log steps daily, enter a single consolidated total at the end of each week, or enter one sum at the end of the month. Choose whatever frequency fits your lifestyle.
Where does the money go? Do you collect donations?
All donations are made directly to the **Huntington's Disease Association** through their official website. We **never** collect, handle, or process any money on this platform. We only track pledges, aggregate steps, and verify donation submissions to show collective community impact.
Can I change my pledge amount?
Yes, you can update your pledge amount in your dashboard settings at any time. To keep the database calculations straightforward and avoid complex math on historic logs, all pledge modifications take effect **starting the first day of the following month**.
Can I hide my profile from the public leaderboard?
Absolutely. We value your privacy. You can enable or disable public leaderboard visibility inside your registration form or under the dashboard profile settings. If disabled, your steps still count towards the global community counters, but your name and detail lines will remain completely anonymous.
What if I forget to log my steps?
Don't worry! You can add steps retrospectively for the current month at any time. If you miss a couple of days, you can log them individually or add them as a single consolidated entry.
